1. He was born in 2002, and His Starsign is Cancer

Benson James Boone was born on 25th June 2002, which makes him a Cancer. Cancers are typically sensitive, emotionally intelligent and physically active – all perfect traits for such an athletic and passionate performer!

2. He is From Washington in the USA

Benson was born and raised in Monroe, Washington, USA. He has four sisters and attended Monroe High School. Whilst at school, he was also a cross country running AND a pole vaulter!

3. Benson Was a Competitive Diver in High School

Before he was a musician, Benson was actually more interested in diving! He competed in high school as a high diver, and he hasn’t wasted his talents since then! Benson loves flipping around when he’s on stage, a skill he really honed as a diver!

Yup, Benson has his very own ice cream van in Utah! 5. He Competed in Battle of the Bands at School

6. He Dropped Out of Uni To Focus on Music

Benson originally attended Brigham Young University in Idaho, studying architecture and interior design. He only attended for a semester before deciding he wanted to focus on music instead. However, he hasn’t ruled out returning to design at a later date!

7. He Was on American Idol

Before he was a singing superstar, Benson was an American Idol contestant. He auditioned for the show in 2021, when he was still a teenager, and performed in front of Lionel Ritchie, Katy Perry and the other judges. However, in the end he withdrew from the competition so he could focus on his career. Good decision!

8. Benson Lives in Utah

Although raised in Washington, Benson now has a house near Salt Lake City in Utah. The house sits on a cliff top about 30 minutes from the city, and sounds like the perfect place to get away from a hectic life of performing!

Benson is dating model and influencer Maggie Thurmon, and the two have been together since 2024. Maggie has a podcast with her dad, who’s a public speaker, and she and Benson have been spotted together at events, film premieres and concerts!
